Where I’ve been
The site fell down last night. I’m re-doing everything. Since I wrote this pre-site breakage, I’m not going to bother with material before this.
So, I’ve decided it’s time for a change in direction.
When I started this website, I really wanted to write about politics, media, business, and so on. But really, I’m just tired with everything that goes on in my own life. Yes, I know what happens in Washington and along Madison Avenue is somewhat important, but really, I’d much rather not focus on that kind of stuff for now. I used to read the BBC, CNN, and the VOA for a few hours every day, but now, I just kinda glance at the headlines every now and then.
I’ve also stopped playing poker (for now, at least). That’s another few hours I’ve re-claimed back. I’m not blowing $5 every Tuesday night. While it was never about the money, I think I’m happier not playing.
Where has my time gone? Good question. I was having a conversation with Sean McBride today about life here during the summer. I felt so much more productive during the school year, even when I had mountains to do. Right now, this is my daily schedule:
8:00 AM: Get up.
8:15 AM: Take a shower.
8:30 AM: Read some headlines.
8:50 AM: Eat breakfast
9:00 AM: Go to work.
12:30 PM: Eat Lunch
4:30 PM: Leave work
7:30 PM: Go with Donahoe and Jon Tse to dinner, either at Anna’s, Subway, Bertucci’s….
8:30 PM: Come back.
9:00 PM-12:00 AM: Surf the Net. Talk to people online. Hang out in the robotics lab.
12:00 AM - 1:00 AM: Get ready for bed. Sleep.
Repeat.
So, I feel REALLY lazy right now, because I haven’t read a book in a while (though I’ve been hacking away at Mountains Beyond Mountains and a few others). I had plans to do so much more with my free time this summer, and it’s kinda gone to bleh….
Sigh.
(Edit: About 20 minutes later…)
I’m making a promise: Update more. Wackiness abounds in my life. And my fingers can certainly use the tune-up. After mulling it over, I think more than anything I want to get back into writing. I’ve strayed from pen and paper for too long. So, here’s to hoping I’ll write more, about the things I want to write about.
